March HLUG Meeting - Weds 27th March
We will be meeting in the Courtyard Theatre, in Hereford on the Mezzanine Floor again this month.
The meeting will start at 7:30pm as usual. The meeting will be an open meeting but will also consist of discussions on:-
* New meeting venue suitable for Workshop style events for the LUG
* Update on new website and change in HLUG hosting currently taking place. We are keen to know what members want from the new website and what they also want to put in.
Everyone is welcome including our new recent members. (don't worry we don't bite ;-) )
PCI Compliance
I am having to fill in a questionaire designed by SecurityMetrics to conform to PCI Compliance standards and am painfully getting fined for non-compliance. I told them I was running Ubuntu Linex and that the ports are closed. They still said I have to complete the questionare to obtain complaince.
The questions I am not sure how to answer are to do with firewall software and the configeration is to the standard they require; whether I need to install anti-virus software: and on what criticial security patches I have.
February Meeting - 27th February

The meeting will start at 7:30pm as usual. The meeting will be an open meeting as my plans to arrange a talk fell through unfortunately :-( Hopefully we'll get a talk/demo lined up for next month. Everyone is welcome including our new recent members. (don't worry we don't bite ;-) )
The Courtyard has free wifi and serves lovely coffees, and there is level (and/or lifts) access to all public areas of the building. You can find directions to The Courtyard, Edgar Street, Hereford, HR4 9JR.
The Courtyard has pay and display parking adjacent and free parking a short walk away.

But even if you're not heading to FOSDEM you should still come because not only will you be meeting a great bunch of people you'll also be able to claim some O'Reilly merch from me including some books.
We'll be upstairs at the top of the pub, the stairs on your right immediately as you walk in. You'll know it's the right place because I'll have a Tux sitting around in the room.
