We will be meeting again at the 'The Point 4's terraced cafe/bar, next to the National College for the Blind in Venn's Lane, not far from the centre of Hereford. With free wifi and their own good sized car park nearby, and food and drink available, its a great place for our meetings !
For our June meeting we will be discussing ideas and suggestions for Software Freedom Day which will be held 18th September this year.
So please come along and talk Linux and Open Source ! We're a friendly, welcoming group of both sexes and all ages
Hi all
In just two and a half weeks we have our KLUG meeting in Ashford from 10am to
2pm. Location details below
'Ashford Youth Theatre' is directly opposite the Ashford Train Station
(domestic not the Eurostar International one).
For SATNAV users the address should be;
Dover Place

There is meter parking at the station and next to the Theatre, which
maybe a little cheaper.
As usual we need ideas/suggestions/offers of TechTalks to be done. This location
is great for a bring a box meet if anyone wants help installing/fixing
a Linux distro.
Please reply if you intend on coming, spread the word and invite all.
Target Shooting
A chance to try your hand at target shooting with air rifles and pistols on a Olympic class 10m range (as used by Team GB and the Paralympic Team)
Cost about £3 - £6 (depends on how many people turn up!)

We hope to see lots of you coming along and we'll be putting up posters in the College and also letting the ICT departments know about it. Hopefully we'll get a bunch of interested students coming along to help swell our ranks.
The meeting will be from 10am to 1pm. Please sign in at reception were there will then be directions to our meeting room.
Currently the talks are David H on general what is open source and myself demoing an install of Lucid onto a desktop and talking briefly about dual booting, wubi and virtualisation options.
If anyone else would like to come forward with talks then that would be great.
I'm also going to grab as many devices as I can find that are running Linux and bring them along for a show and tell type table - if any one else has devices to add to this pile then that would be great.
On the actual day you will need to sign in with reception who will take your car reg and issue you with a pass - without that you won't be able to get through the doors.
If anyone has issues with transport please post to the list as a separate topic and hopefully we'll be able to sort out some car shares.

Our April HLUG meeting will be held in a new location we will be trying for the first time.
The meeting will be held at the recently opened new venue 'The Point 4' near the centre of Hereford, http://www.thepoint4.info, owned and used mainly by the Blind College but open to all. It's a very smart place, with excellent facilities but unknown as yet to many Herefordians.
You can see more pictures of the venue here http://www.thepoint4.co.uk/socialise.html
